USA Hockey emphasizes physical literacy as a cornerstone of player development, focusing on building fundamental movement skills, confidence, and a love for physical activity that extends beyond hockey. Swimming offers hockey players the chance to focus on endurance, balance, core development, and breathing while strengthening muscles in a low-impact, high cardiovascular activity, full body work out in the water. Together, AMHA and CAA can develop well rounded, healthy, competitive athletes!
Players will have the opportunity to cross train at Elizabeth Milburn Pool in Cedar Park, Texas, a 25 meter, eight lane, heated outdoor pool. Capital Area Aquatics will offer two Wednesday evening sessions exclusive for AMHA The Rising Stars program.
The program, led by USA Swimming Certified and USA Hockey Certified Coach Charissa Pituch, will focus on breathing techniques, stroke development, diving, and overall endurance tailored to hockey players’ specific needs. To ensure a high level of engagement and focused, individual work, spots will be limited to thirty players per practice time.
